A Major Problem - Just recently, a few piano manufacturers have decided to leave out major parts in the design and construction of their pianos. This new cost reduction may cause severe problems for your piano in the future if you should wind up with one of those brands. Notice the photo on the left which shows the cast iron plate that holds the 20-ton tension of the piano strings on a well known brand. This plate needs to be secured by at least 1 large bolt through the plate and then down through the piano where it is attached to the large wood support beam underneath the piano. This is necessary so that the inside plate is completely secured to the piano which then reduces vibrations, reduces tuning issues, increases overall support, and adds years of longevity like all great pianos have done for decades. The piano on the left does not have a critical large support bolt! They left it out...on purpose! And yet, you might never know it unless you looked very closely and KNEW what to look for. Now look at the Wyman piano photo on the right. Not only does Wyman use a heavy duty tension bolt that is secured to the piano in the traditional way, Wyman also finishes off the top of the bolt with a beautiful custom made "crown head" so the piano will look even more beautiful than it already is! Wyman pianos are the obvious choice.
